The channel has to be public with its web preview switched on. You add the tg.page bot as an administrator, which is how you prove the channel is yours. The bot never reads the content: posts are taken from the channel's public page.

While the plan is paid, everything already brought across stays with us. If the channel is deleted, closed or otherwise goes away, the pages keep opening — only new posts stop arriving. Images are loaded from Telegram, so those can go when the channel does.
